Known for it is extreme “scenic and pristine” beauty is the “RamaKrishna Mission Beach” located at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. It is popular for a naval museum known as “INS Kursura Submarine Museum”.  This pristine beach is being further developed by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) along with the Visakhapatnam Urban development Authority (VUDA) in order to attract more tourists. So if you intend to relax in one amongst the many “pristine” beaches in India then this beach is certainly a must visit.

  1. By train:

The nearest railway station to this beach is located in Visakhapatnam. The Visakhapatnam Railway Station is well connected to major cities in the country such as Mumbai, Chennai etc.

      2. By Bus:

There are a number of state operated (APSRTC) bus services available in the state that connects to Visakhapatnam.

      3. By Air:

The closest airport to this beach is located in Visakhapatnam. The Visakhapatnam or Vizag Airport is well connected to major cities in the country such as Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi etc.

Climate and the best time to visit Ramakrishna Beach:

The temperature during summer in Visakhapatnam which begins in March and ends in May rises to a maximum of 45 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoons which begins in June and ends in September is generally heavy. The winter on the other hand which begins in December and ends in February is “pleasant” with, the temperature ranging from a maximum of 32 degree Celsius to a minimum of 18 degree Celsius. So, the ideal time to visit this beach so as to thoroughly enjoy its scenic beauty and pristine environment is from October to March.

There are number of activities/things to do in and around this beautiful beach and they are as follows:

  1. INS Kursura Submarine Museum:

Is essentially a museum located around this beach popular for preserving Indian Navy’s Kalvari Class Diesel Electric Submarine. This museum is a major tourist attraction.

      2. Outdoor Sporting Activities:

Since this beach is extremely clean, sporting activities such as beach volleyball, football, sunbathing etc, are extremely popular. Additionally, the sea water surrounding this beach is also safe so swimming is also another popular outdoor activity.

      3. Other tourists attractions:

This picturesque and pristine beach also includes other popular tourist attractions such as an aquarium, a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, Visakha Museum and many popular eateries providing delicious seafood.

Interesting facts

The name of this picturesque beach located in Andhra Pradesh has been derived from the renowned “Ramakrishna Mission Ashram” situated in close proximity. Furthermore, it is considered to be one of the best beaches/tourist spots in the state and is commonly referred to as “RK Beach”.
