Popular for its crystal clear sea and scenic environment, the “Nagoa Beach”is located in the city of Diu in the union territory of Daman and Diu. This beach is renowned for being home to a rare species of palm tree called “Hoka”, which was first planted by Portuguese traders. It is also considered to be one of the safest beaches in the city. Furthermore, a number of hotels and resorts are available in and around this beach making it an ideal hotspot for tourists to relax and enjoy the “sun and sand”. It is located at a distance of  9.5 km (via Airport Rd/Kesariya – Diu Rd and NH251)  from Ghoghla Beach.

  1. By train:

The nearest railway station to the beach (Since Diu does not possess its own station) is located in Veraval. The Veraval Railway Station is well connected to major stations such as Rajkot, Ahmedabad etc.

      2. By Road:

There are number of private AC/non AC bus services available from Diu that are well connected to Ahmedabad.

      3. By flight:

The nearest airport to the beach is the Diu Airport. This airport is well connected to major cities in the country such as Mumbai.

Climate and best time to visit Nagoa Beach

The temperature during summers in Diu which begins in March and ends in July ranges from 30 to 38 degree Celsius. The monsoons are usually heavy and arrive in August and depart in October while, the winter that begins in November and ends in February is usually extremely cold with the mercury dropping to as low as 12 degree Celsius. The best time to visit this wonderful beach being the summer months of March to July since it is the ideal time to enjoy outdoor activities such as water sports.

Places To Visit Around Nagoa Beach :

Apart from its pristine scenic beauty this beach is also renowned for water sports activities. So sailing, boating, and water skiing are activities available on this beach that you can truly enjoy. There are also a few major must see tourist attractions located around this beach. They are as follows:

  1. Church of St. Francis of Assisi:

Constructed in the year 1593 this church is considered to be one of the oldest churches in Diu. The architectural beauty and charm of the Portuguese is what makes this church a must see for tourists.

      2. Paul’s Church:

Named after St. Paul the apostle of Jesus Christ this church was built by the Portuguese in the year 1610 AD. Like most other Portuguese churches the architectural charm is what makes it a major tourist attraction.

      3. Thomas Church/Museum:

Once upon a time a church and now converted into a museum containing a number of ancient stone inscriptions, wood carvings, antique statues etc. It is this presence of a variety of ancient valuable archaeological artefacts that makes this museum a popular tourist attraction.

The other tourist attractions in and around this beautiful beach include PaniKotha, INS Khukri Memorial, and the Sea Shell Museum.
