The Somnath Beach is a picturesque beach located to the east of a town called Veravalin Gujarat. This extremely beautiful beach is named after the sacred Somnath Temple. It is renowned for its crystal clear water and beautiful white sand. In addition, this beach also provides for magnificent views of the “rising and setting sun”. Furthermore, a number of vendors selling fresh coconut water are found at this beach. It is situated at a distance of 78. km (via NH51) from Nagoa Beach.

Climate and best time to visit Somnath Beach

The climate at this beach during the summer season which begins in March and ends in June is extremely “hot” with temperatures ranging from a maximum of 41 degree Celsius to a minimum of 24 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoon season which begins in July and ends in September is “heavy”. The winter season which starts in November and ends in February is “pleasant” with the temperature ranging from a maximum of 32 degree Celsius to a minimum of 10 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to enjoy the picturesque beauty of this beach is from November to February.

In addition, this temple is also known to possess Lord Shiva’s Jyotirlinga.

      2. Rudreshwara Temple:

The Rudreshwara Temple is yet another popular temple located in close proximity to this beach. This temple is renowned for its exquisite sculpture that is especially visible on the doorways and walls.

      3. PrabasPata Museum:

PrabasPata is a renowned museum located in close proximity to this beach. This wonderful museum comprises of fascinating artefacts, and also consists of remains of a temple previously located at the site of this museum.
