Kuzhupilly Beach is an extremely pristine and picturesque beach located in close proximity to the island Vypin in Kerala. This beautiful beach is situated in the Ernakulum district. The true beauty of this beach lies in the fact that it is surrounded by backwaters and paddy fields. In addition, this beach is also surrounded by coconut trees which add more charm to its overall beauty.

The nearest railway station to this beach is in Ernakulum. The Ernakulum Railway Junction is well connected to major cities in the country.

If you intend to drive to this beach the ideal starting points would be Thrissur, Kottayam, Alappuzha, and Coimbatore.

  1. Via Thrissur:

There are three routes from Thrissur to this beach, and they are via Kodungallur-Shomur Road, via NH-544 and SH-51, and via NH-544.

      2. Via Kottayam:

There are three routes from Kottayam to this beach, and they are via SH-15, via SH-15 and NH-66, and via NH-66.

      3. Via Alapuzzha:

There are two routes from Alapuzzha to this beach, and they are via NH-66 and via NH-66 and Republic Road.

      4. Via Coimbatore:

There are two routes from Coimbatore to this beach, and they are via NH-544 and via NH-66.

  1. By air:

The closest airport to this beach is located in Cochin. The Cochin International Airport is well connected to major cities in the country as well as to international destination.

Climate and the best time to visit the Kuzhupilly Beach

The climate at this beach during the summer season which begins in March and ends in June is “dry and humid” with the mercury rising to a maximum of about 37 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoon season which begins in July and ends in September is “heavy”. The winter season on the other hand which begins in October and ends in February is pleasant with the temperature ranging from maximum of 33 degree Celsius to a minimum of 17 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to visit this beach is during winter from October to February.

Things/activities to do

Since this beach is located in a secluded spot there are not many things/activities to do found over here accept for enjoying its pristine and serene environment, beautiful views of the “setting sun”, and the beauty of the surrounding backwater and paddy fields.
