Located in the Konkan region is an extremely picturesque and secluded beach known as Anjarle Beach. This beautiful beach is situated in the Dapoli taluka of the Ratnagiri district. In addition, to its scenic beauty, this virgin beach comprises of beautiful white sand and is surrounded by palms and trees. Furthermore, situated in close proximity to this beach is a famous Lord Ganesh idol called “Ujwya Sondecha Ganpati” which when translated means “trunk of Ganpati turned towards the right”. It is located at a distance of about 7.5 km (via MH SH4) from Harnai Beach.

  1. By train:

The nearest railway station to this beach is located in Khed at a distance of 29 km. The Khed Railway Station is well connected to major cities in the country such as Mumbai and Pune as well as most of the cities/towns in the state.

  1. By road:

If you intend to drive to this beach then the ideal starting points would be Kolhapur, Mumbai, Pune, and Ratnagiri

  1. Via Kolhapur:

There are three routes from Kolhapur to this beach, and they are via NH-48 and Karad-Chiplun Road, via NH-166 and NH-66, and via NH-48.

      2. Via Mumbai:

There are three routes from Mumbai to this beach, and they are via Mumbai Highway/Mumbai-Bangalore Highway/Mumbai-Pune Highway, via NH-66, and via Mumbai Highway/Mumbai-Bangalore Highway/Mumbai-Pune Highway and TamhiniGhat.

      3. Via Pune:

There are three routes from Pune to this beach, and they are via TamhiniGhat Road, via MH SH 70, and via Mumbai-Bangalore Highway/Mumbai-Pune highway/Mumbai-Pune Expressway.

      4. Via Ratnagiri:

There are two routes from Ratnagiri to this beach, and they are via SH 96 and via SH 104.

The closest major airport to this beach is located in Mumbai. The ChhatrapatiShivaji International Airport is well connected to major cities in the country as well as international destinations.

Climate and the best time to visit Anjarle Beach

The climate at this beach during the summer season which begins in March and ends in May is extremely hot with the mercury rising to about 38 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoon season which begins in June and ends in September is heavy. On the other hand the winter season which begins in December and ends in February is pleasant with the mercury dropping to as low as 15 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to visit this beach is during the winter from December to February.

This beach comprises of a pristine environment that includes white sand and beautiful bluish-green water that is definitely worth enjoying.

Places To Visit Around Anjarle Beach

In close proximity to this beach lies the famous Lord Ganesh shrine called “Kadyawarcha Ganpati Temple”. The unique feature of this temple being the Ganpati idol which possesses a trunk that curves to the right rather than towards the left.

Overall, though there are not many things/activities to do found in and around this beach since it is located in a secluded spot.
