Candolim Beach – Goa

Renowned for its tranquil and pristine environment as well as for serving the best seafood in Goa is a beach called Candolim Beach. This scenic beach is located in North Goa at a distance of 14 km from Panjim. This beautiful beach is also known to provide for magnificent views of the setting sun. In addition, this beach is also popular for water sports activities such as parasailing. Furthermore, this beach also renowned for its nightlife, and is situated on the stretch that includes Sinquerim, Calangute, and Baga.

  1. By train

The nearest railway station to Candolim beach is located in Thivim. This railway station is located at a distance of 21 km.

Stay with a local in their home

  1. By Road:

If you intend to drive to Candolim Beach the ideal way would be to start from either Panjim or Mapusa.

  1. Via Panjim:

There are three routes from Panjim. They are as follows

      2. Via Betim-Verem-Saligao Road

This route includes DB Marg, Rua De Ourem, Betim-Verem-Saligao Road, Verem-Nerul Road, Candolim Beach Road, and finally Candolim Beach.

      3. Via Pilerne-Candolim Road

This route includes DB Marg, Rua De Ourem, Pilerne Road, Betim-Verem-Saligao Road,Pilerne-Candolim Road, and finally Candolim Beach.

     4. Via NH-66 and Chogm Road

This route includes DB Marg, Rua De Ourem, Aradi Socorro, Porvorim, Chogm Road, and finally the Candolim Beach.

  1. Via Mapusa:

There are three routes from Mapusa. There are as follows

      2. Via Calangute-Mapusa Road

This route includes Duler-Marna-Siolim Road, AnjunaMapusa Road, Mapusa-Anjuna-Chapora, Calangute-Mapusa Road, Aguada-Siolim Road, Candolim Road, and finally Candolim Beach.

      3. Via NH-66 and Calangute-Mapusa Road

This route includes Duler Ground Road, XellBastora Road, Calangute-Mapusa Road, Aguada-Siolim Road, Candolim Beach Road, and finally the Candolim Beach.

      4. Via Chogm Road

This route includes Betim-Verem-Saligao Road,Porvorim, Chogm Road, to finally Candolim Beach.

  1. By Air:

The closest airport to this beach is located in Dabolim. The Dabolim or Goa International Airport is well connected to major cities in the country as well to major destination.

Climate and the best time to visit Candolim Beach

The best time to visit  this beach is during the “pleasant” winter months which begins in December and ends in February with the temperature ranging from a minimum of 21 degree Celsius to a maximum of 28 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoons which begins in June and ends in September is heavy. The summer season which arrives in March and departs in May on the other hand is “hot and humid” with the temperature reaching a maximum of 35 degree Celsius.

Things to do at Candolim Beach

There are a number of things/activities to do found around this scenic beach. They are as follows:

  1. Water Sports:

This beach provides a number of thrilling water activities such as jet-skiing, bump rides, banana rides, catamaran sailing, parasailing, water skiing, and wind-surfing. In addition, boat rides that provide for dolphin and crocodile spotting are also available at this beach.

     2. Sunburn Festival:

The Sunburn Festival is a popular  annual electronic dance festival that was held at this beach in 2010, 2011, and 2012 . The three days of this festival is filled with fun and frolic, and it is also during this period that one can truly enjoy shopping, music, food etc.

     4. Nightlife/Partying:

Similar to several other beaches in Goa, this beach is also popular for providing a vibrant nightlife.  Discos such as SinQ, Shiro Nightclubs, Club LPK– Love Passion Karma, Pharaos located in the beach are known to provide for lavish parties and are extremely popular with tourists. Usually most of these parties continue throughout the night.
