Located in close proximity to the Aksa Beach is an extremely scenic beach called Erangal Beach. This beautiful beach is situated in the suburb of Malad in the city of Mumbai. The beach is surrounded by a beautiful landscape that includes hills and paddy fields. It is also known for providing magnificent views of the “setting sun” as well as for discreet wild night parties. It is located at a distance of 2.9 km (via Madh – Marve Rd) from Aksa Beach.

Climate and the best time to visit the Erangal Beach

The summer months which begins in March and ends in May  comprises of a maximum temperature of about 40 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoon season which begins in June and ends in September is “heavy”. The winter season which begins in November and ends in February on the other hand is pleasant with the mercury even dropping to a minimum of 10 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to visit this beach is during the winters from November to February.

Places To Visit Around Erangal Beach

There are not many things/activities to do found at this beach apart from relaxing in rental cottages available around this beach. In addition, in close proximity to this beach lie the amusement park and water park Essel World/Water Kingdom which are worth visiting. Furthermore, beaches such as Aksa, Gorai, Manori etc  located in close proximity to this beach are also well worth the visit.

Interesting facts

“A Jatra or fair” is organized at the Erangal Beach annually on the second Sunday during the month of January. Apparently, this Jatra is organized to celebrate the feast of St Bonaventure, the primary deity worshiped at a church located in close proximity to this beach. Furthermore, this fair basically comprises of a number of fun activities for children such as giant wheels, merry-go rounds, small car rides as well as the “Well of Death”. In addition, an array of items such as ice creams, cold drinks, handicraft toys, and clothes are sold during this fair. Tattoo artists with their machine can also be seen at this fair for those who like to decorate their body. An Indian naval base known as INS Hamla is located at a distance of about 4.4 km from this beach. A defense school known as ‘Kendriya Vidyalaya INS Hamla’ which was founded in August 1972  is also located in close proximity to this beach. In addition, at a distance of 1.2 km from this beach lies the popular The Retreat Hotel, renowned for providing rooms for conventions.
