Velsao Beach – Goa
Surrounded by beautiful coconut trees and a tranquil atmosphere is a picturesque beach located in Goa called Velsao Beach. This beautiful beach is located in Vasco Da Gama, and connects to the Bogmalo Beach in the north and Majorda and Colva beach in the south. It is also an extremely pristine beach comprising of long stretches of beautiful white sand. In addition, this beach is also renowned for a number of water sports activities as well as for the feast of the “Three Kinds of Our Lady of Cures Chapel” celebrated every January.

- By train:
The nearest railway station to this beach is located in Vasco Da Gama at a distance of 8 km. The Vasco Da Gama Railway Station is well connected to major cities in the country.
- By road:
If you intend to drive to this beach the ideal starting point would be Vasco Da Gama and Margao.
- Via Vasco Da Gama:
There are two routes available. They are as follows:
- Via NH-566 and MDR43:
This route includes the Velsao Beach Road, NH-566, MDR43, and finally the beach.
- Via NH-566 Pale-Velsao-Colva-Benaulim-Varca-Cavelossum-MDR43
This route includes the NH-566, Velsao Beach Road, and finally the beach.

There exists one route from Margao. It is as follows:

This route includes Swami Chinmayanand Road, Arlem Bypass, Velsao Beach Road, and finally the beach.
3. By air:
The nearest airport to the Baga Beach is located in Dabolim at a distance of 50 km. The Dabolim or the Goa International Airport is well connected to major cities in the country as well as to international destinations.
Climate and the best time to visit Velsao Beach
The climate experienced at this beach during the summer months from March to May is hot and humid with average temperature ranging to about 35 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoon which begins in June and ends in September is “heavy”. The winter which begins in December and ends in February is extremely “pleasant” with the temperature ranging from a maximum of 28 degree Celsius to a minimum of 21 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to visit this place to enjoy the scenic beauty as well as water sports activities is from December to February.
