Chakratith Beach – Gujarat
Located in Diu and known for its exquisite picturesque beauty is a beautiful beach called Chakratirth Beach. This beach is renowned for its beautiful white sand as well for its pristine looking sea. It also comprises of an open air auditorium inclusive of changing rooms and is located on a hillock. In addition, this beach is considered to be ideal for sunbathing since it consists of plenty of “sun and sand”.

- By Train:
The nearest railway station to the beach (since Diu does not possess its own station) is located in Veraval. The Veraval Railway Station is well connected to major stations such as Rajkot, Ahmedabad etc.
- By Road:
If you intend to drive to this beach there are three preferable routes available, and they are via Bhuj, Somnath, and Veraval.
- Via Bhuj:
There exist three routes from Bhuj, they are, via NH-27, via Bhuj-Bhachau Highway, and via GJ SH 119.
2. Via Somnath:
There exist three routes from Somnath, they are as follows via NH-51, via SH-26 and NH-51, and NH-51 and GJ SH-98.
3. Via Veraval:
There exist one route from Veraval, and it is via NH-51.
- By air:
The nearest airport to the beach is the Diu Airport. This airport is well connected to major cities in the country such as Mumbai.
Climate and the best time to visit Chakratith Beach
The temperature during summers in Diu which begins in March and ends in July ranges from 30 to 38 degree Celsius. The monsoons are usually heavy and arrive in August and depart in October while, the winter that begins in November and ends in February is usually extremely cold with the mercury dropping to as low as 12 degree Celsius. The best time to visit this wonderful beach being the summer months of March to July since the climate is extremely pleasant during this period.
Things to do and Places To Visit Around Chakratith Beach
There are a couple of things/activities to do available at this beach. They are as follows:
- Sunset point:
Located at this beautiful is a sunset point that provides for magnificent views of the setting sun and, hence is a must visit.
2. Temple:
In close proximity to this beach lies a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva that is worth visiting.
3. Water Sports activities and Open Air Auditorium:
A wide range of water sports such as parasailing, jet skiing, speed boat etc., are available at this beach. In addition, an open air auditorium with changing room is also located over here.
