Dana Pani Beach – Maharashtra
Connected to the “Aksa Beach” is a scenic and small beach called Dana Paani Beach. This beautiful beach surrounded by coconut trees is situated in the city of Mumbai in Maharashtra. It is considered to be one of the most secluded beaches in the “City of dreams” i.e. Mumbai, and hence attracts few visitors. In addition, this beach also possesses a variety of snails and shells.

Climate and the best time to visit the Dana Paani Beach
The best time to visit the beach is during the winter season i.e. between November to February. The winter season is pleasant with the mercury even dropping to a minimum of 10 degree Celsius. The climate at this beach during the summer season which begins in March and ends in May is hot and humid with the mercury rising to up to about 38-40 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoon season which begins in June and ends in September is “heavy”.
Things/activities to do
Since this beach is located at one end of the Aksa beach it serves as an ideal spot for relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the stressful city life. So apart from relaxation, there are not many things/activities to do found at this beach.
Interesting Facts:
This beach has been named after a multi cuisine restaurant known as ‘Dana Pani’. Furthermore, it is located in close proximity to the Erangal Beach.It is ideally suited for relaxation, and does not provide for any water sporting or other recreational activities. Moreover, it is popular for regular fishing activities undertaken by the ‘kolis'(local fishing community). According to a fisherman named Manish Koli, the majority of fish catch obtained over here consists mainly of lobsters/crabs. With regards to business he further states that, on certain days he can make as much as Rs 10,000 but there are days when he does not even make Rs 10 in a day.
Word of Caution
In March 2016 a couple was apparently saved by alert life guards from drowning at the Dana Paani Beach. This incident clearly indicating that swimming at this beach is not recommended. Not only due to the dangerous waves generated especially during high tides but, also because this beach is located in a desolate spot and lifeguards may not always be available.
