Versova Beach – Maharashtra
An extension of the “Juhu Beach” is the scenic Versova Beach. This picturesque beach is located in the posh suburb called Versova in the north-western part of the city of Mumbai. In addition, to its scenic beauty this beach is also known for providing magnificent views of the “setting sun”. Furthermore, this beach also comprises of gigantic rocks that provides protection against waves during high tides. Also, located around this beach is a large community of local fishermen/fisherwomen known as “Kolis”.

- By train:
The closest major railway station to this beach is located in Bandra. The Bandra Terminus is connected to major cities in the country especially located in the north and west zones.
- By road:
If you intend to drive to this beach then the ideal starting points would be Pune, Thane, Kalyan, and Navi Mumbai.
- Via Pune:
There is one route from Pune to this beach, and it is via Mumbai-Bangalore Highway/Mumbai-Pune Highway.
2. Via Thane:
There are two routes from Thane to this beach, and they are Via Eastern Express Highway/Mumbai-Agra National Highway.
3. Via Kalyan:
There is one route from Kalyan to this beach, and it is via NH-160.
4. Via Navi Mumbai:
There are two routes from Navi Mumbai to this beach, and they are via Mumbai Highway/Mumbai-Bangalore Highway/Mumbai-Pune Highway/Sion-Panvel Highway and via Mumbai Highway/Mumbai-Bangalore Highway/Mumbai-Pune Highway/Sion-Panvel Highway and Western Express Highway.
- By air:
The nearest airport is located in the suburb called Ville Parle. The ChhatrapatiShivaji International Airport is connected to major cities in the country as well as to international destinations.
Climate and the best time to visit the Versova Beach
The climate at this beach during the summer season which begins in March and ends in May is extremely hot with the mercury rising to up to about 40 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoon season which begins in June and ends in September is “heavy”. The winter season which begins in November and ends in February on the other hand is pleasant with the mercury even dropping to a minimum of a 10 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to visit this beach is during the winters from November to February.

Apart from enjoying the scenic beauty of this beach one can also enjoy snorkelling especially during the water sport season i.e. November to February. In addition, this beach also provides for magnificent views of the “setting sun” thereby making it an ideal spot for passionate photographers. Furthermore, enjoyable horse rides are also available at this beach.
