Ramachandi Beach – Odisha
Comprising of beautiful “silver sand and a serene atmosphere” is an extremely picturesque beach in Odisha called Ramachandi Beach. This beautiful beach is located at a distance of 7km from Konark in the Puri district. In close proximity to this scenic, secluded, and unexplored beach lies the renowned Sun Temple. In addition, the area surrounding this beach possesses historical significance with the Khordha Dynasty having ruled over this region during the 16th century. Furthermore, this region was also invaded by the Muslims and the Marathas in the past.

- By train:
The closest railway station to this beach is located in Puri. The Puri Railway Station is well connected via regular train services to major cities in country such as Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad etc.

If you intend to drive to this beach then the ideal starting points would be Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Patna, and Kolkata.
- Via Bhubaneswar:
There are two routes from Bhubaneswar to this beach, and they are via NH-316, and via NH-316 and Puri-Konark Marine Drive.

There are three routes from Cuttack to this beach, and they are via NH-316, via SH-60, and via SH-43.
3. Via Puri:
There is one route from Puri to this beach, and they are via Puri-Konark Marine Drive.
4. Via Patna:
There are two routes from Patna to this beach, and they are via NH-16 and via NH-19 and NH-16.
5. Via Kolkata:
There is one route from Kolkata to this beach, and it is via NH-16.

Climate and the best time to visit Ramachandi Beach
The climate at this beach during the summer season which begins in March and ends in May is extremely hot with the mercury rising to about 45 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoon season which begins in June and ends in September is “moderate”. On the other hand the winter season which begins in December and ends in February is extremely pleasant with the temperature ranging from a maximum of 18 degree Celsius to a minimum of 10 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to visit this beach is from October to February during winter.

This beach is renowned for providing for water sports activities such as surfing, water skiing, motor boating, jet skiing, and scuba diving. In addition, a popular “surfing festival” is organised at this beach annually which attracts surfers from various parts of the globe and which is worth watching. Furthermore, this beach is also ideal for recreational activities such as swimming and sunbathing. In close proximity to this beach is a temple dedicated to Goddess Ramachandi said to be one among the famous “Saktapithas” located in the state worth visiting especially for those who happen to be ardent devotees of the goddess.
