Located in North Goa is an extremely pristine and picturesque beach called Baga Beach. This beach is located in a taluka known as Bardez. In close proximity to this beach lies the Baga Creek. This beach stretches from Sinquerim, Candolim, Calangute to eventually the seaside town of Baga. Additionally, this beach is renowned for shacks serving typical Goan cuisine as well as water sports such as parasailing, and windsurfing.  Furthermore, this beach is a popular tourist hotspot and attracts thousands of tourists annually.

The nearest railway station to the Baga Beach is located in Panaji.  The Panaji Railway Station is well connected to several major cities via express and superfast trains.

The nearest airport to the Baga Beach is located in Dabolim at a distance of 50 km. The Dabolim or the Goa International Airport is well connected to major cities in the country as well as to international destinations.

Climate and the best time to visit Baga Beach

“Winter season” beginning in December and ending in February with temperature ranging from a minimum of 21 degree Celsius and maximum of 28 degree Celsius is the best time to visit this beach. The rainfall received during the monsoons which begins in June and ends in September is “heavy”. The summers are “hot and humid” with the mercury rising to a maximum of 35 degree Celsius.

Things to do at Baga Beach 

There are a number of thing/activities to do at the Baga Beach. They are as follows

  1. Saturday Market:

In order to counter the Wednesday flea market opened at Anujna Beach, a Saturday market was opened at the Baga Beach. This market essentially comprises of several stalls/shacks selling products such as clothes, trinkets, handicrafts, bric-a-brac, clothes and jewellery. In addition, a hair salon can also be found at this market.

      2. Restaurants, Beach shacks, and Nightclubs:

There are number of popular restaurants and beach shacks that provide for typical Goan food as well other cuisines at reasonable prices. Additionally, there are a few renowned nightclubs such as Tito’s Nightclub (frequented by Bollywood stars such as Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt) that provide for a vibrant nightlife at this beach. Furthermore, an extremely popular bar and restaurant known as “Brittos” is located at this beach. Apart from serving some delicious Goan cuisine and drinks it also provides customers with a “candlelight dinner” service after the setting of the sun.

      3. Water Sports and Dolphin viewing:

Similar to many beaches in Goa, Baga too is popular for water sports such as parasailing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and Jet Ski rides. In addition, dolphin viewing is also an activity popular at this beach.
