“Serene and pristine” would be the best way to describe the Uttorda Beach located in the state of Goa.  Situated along a stretch that includes beaches such as Majorda, and Betalbatim, Uttorda is situated in the southern part of the state. Furthermore, this beautiful beach is surrounded by beautiful palm trees, white sand, and clear blue water of the Arabian Sea. In addition, it comprises of an water sports association that provides for adrenaline rush activities such as parasailing, jet skiing, banana boat rides, bumpy rides, dolphin rides, boat rides, and fishing trips.

1. How to get to Uttorda Beach:

a. By Train:

The nearest railway station to this beach is located in Margao. The Madgaon Railway Station is well connected to most of the major cities in the country.

b. By Road:

There are a number of routes available from cities such as Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Surat, and Ahmedabad. They are as follows:

1. Via Bangalore:

If starting from Bangalore then it is the NH-48 route that one needs to take to reach this beach. It takes about 10 hour and 9 minutes using the NH-48 route.

2. Via Mumbai:

If starting from Mumbai then one can take either the NH-48 or the NH-66 route to reach this beach. Furthermore, it takes about 11 hours and 4 minutes using the NH-48 route while it takes 12 hours 34 minutes using NH-66 route.

3. Via Pune:

If starting from Pune then one can take either the NH-48 or the Mumbai Highway/Pune-Solapur Road to this beach. It takes 8 hours and 57 minutes using NH-48 while it takes 11 hours and 56 minutes using Mumbai Highway/Pune Solapur Road.

c. By Air:

The nearest airport to this beach is the Goa International Airport located in Dabolim. Furthermore, this airport is well connected to domestic as well as international destinations.

2. Climate and the best time to visit the Uttorda Beach:

The winter period beginning from December and lasting till February when the the climate is extremely “pleasant” with the temperature ranging from a maximum of 28 degree Celsius to a minimum of 21 degree Celsius is the best time to visit this beautiful beach. The summer months that begin in March and end May is “hot and humid” with the temperature during this period averaging about 35 degree Celsius. In addition, “heavy” rainfall is received during the monsoon season which begins in June and ends in September.

3. Things/activities to do at the Uttorda Beach:

There are couple of activities that can be undertaken at this beach. They are as follows:

a. Water sports: Located at this pristine beach is the “Uttorda Beach Water Sports Association” that provides for activities such as parasailing, jet skiing, banana boat rides, bumpy rides, dolphin rides, boat rides, and fishing trips.

b. Sunbathing: This beach surrounded by “tranquility” and is also blessed with lots of sunshine like most beaches in Goa, and hence serves as an ideal spot for sunbathing.
