Kozhikode Beach – Kerala
Popular for providing magnificent views of the “setting sun” is the extremely scenic Kozhikode Beach. This picturesque beach located in the Kozhikode city is a part of the Beypore Beach. In addition, the 28 km long beach road that connects to this beach was renamed “Gandhi Road” in 1934 after Mahatma Gandhi visited Calicut. Furthermore, this beach can be accessed via four road over bridges located in the city.

The nearest railway station to this beach is located in Kozhikode. The Kozhikode Railway Station is well connected to major cities in the country.

There is one route from Mangalore to this beach, and it is via NH-66.

There is one route from Bangalore to this beach, and it is via NH-275 and NH-766.

The closest airport to this beach is located in Calicut at a distance of 23 km. The Calicut Airport is well connected to major cities in the country as well as to international destinations.
Climate and the best time to visit the Kozhikode Beach
The climate at this beach during the summer season which begins in March and ends in May is extremely “hot and humid” with the temperature ranging from a minimum of 37 degree Celsius to a maximum of 39 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoon which begins in June and ends in September is “heavy”. In the meanwhile the winter season which begins in October and ends in February is pleasant with the mercury dropping to about 15 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to visit this beach is from October to February.

The Lion’s Park for children and the marine water aquarium is are other major tourist attraction located at this beach. The marine water aquarium is open on all days from 08.00 am to 08.00 pm.
