Vodarevu Beach – Andhra Pradesh

This beach is located at a distance of about 6 km from Chirala on the west coast of the Bay of Bengal in the Prakasam district. Apart from its scenic beauty and serene environment this beach also provides for magnificent views of the “rising and setting” sun. - By train:
The nearest railway station to this beach is located in Chirala at a distance of about 6 km. The Chirala Railway Station is well connected to major cities and towns in the country via trains such as Navjivan Express, Jan Shatabdi Express and Krishna Express.
2. By road:
If you want to travel to this beach via road then the best way is to travel from Chirala. There are two routes available from Chirala to this beach. They are as follows:
- Via Vadarevu Road
This route includes PapayPalem Road that connects to NH-216, Vadarevu Road, and before finally reaching this beach.
- Via Kothapeta Road and Vadarevu Road
This route includes Kothapeta Road, Vadarevu Road, and before finally reaching this beach.
3. By air:
The closest airport to this beach is located in Vijaywada. The Vijaywada Airport is well connected to major cities in the country such as Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnametc via major airlines such as Air India, SpiceJet etc. Taxi services are available from the airport to this beach.
Climate and the best time to visit Vodarevu Beach
The climate is generally “hot and humid” at this beach during the summers which begins in March and ends in May with 42 degree Celsius to a minimum of 38 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoons which begins in June and ends in September is “normal”. The winter months which begins in November and ends in February is “cool and pleasant” with temperature ranging from a maximum of 20 degree Celsius to a minimum of 18 degree Celsius. So the best time to visit this scenic beach is from October to February.

Apart from its scenic beauty and picturesque and pristine surrounding it provides this beach is also renowned for water related activities. So activities such as swimming and fishing are quite popular in this beach. In addition, boat rides are provided by local fishermen on persuasion.
