Bekal Beach – Kerala
Located in Kasaragod district is an extremely picturesque beach called Bekal Beach. This beautiful beach is known for its scenic landscape which includes the presence of beautiful palm trees. A fort was known as “Bekal Fort” is situated in close proximity to this beach. In addition, there are a group of 45 caves known as the Nityanandashram caves, a few mosques, and an Aqua Park that can also be found in close proximity to this beach.

The closest station to this beach is located in Kasaragod at a distance of 16 km. The Kasaragod Railway Station is well connected to major cities in the country.

Climate and the best time to visit Bekal Beach
The climate experienced at this beach during the summer months which begins March and ends in May with the temperature ranging from a maximum of 31 degree Celsius to a minimum of 23 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoon season which begins in June and ends in September is “heavy” with the average annual rainfall of 3581 mm being recorded. Meanwhile, the winter season which begins in December and ends in February is “pleasant” with the temperature ranging from a maximum 20 degree Celsius to a minimum of 12 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to visit this Bekal Beach is from December to February.

There are couple of things/activities to do found in and around this beach. They are as follows
- Bekal Fort:
Located in close proximity to this beach is the Bekal Fort that covers an area of more than 40 acres. One of the unique features of this fort is the tunnels that are situated towards the south.
2. Chandragiri Fort:
Situated at a distance of 10 km from this beach and elevated at an altitude of 183 meters above the sea level. This fort provides for magnificent views of the Chandragiri River and Arabian Sea.
3. Ranipuram:
Located at a distance of 58 km from this beach is Ranipuram, an ideal picnic hotspot famous for monsoon forests, grasslands, and Shola woods. In addition, it also consists of large population of wild elephants and hence serves as a perfect spot for wildlife enthusiast.
4. Vallyaparamba:
Vallyaparamba is a magnificent backwater stretch located at a distance of 19 km from this beach. This beautiful stretch of backwater comprises of four rivers that flows through land between the paddy fields and palm grooves.
