Benaulim Beach – Goa
Popular for “fishing” is a serene and extremely scenic beach known as Benaulim Beach located in Goa. This tranquil beach is situated at a distance of 2 kilometres from the Colva Beach. Apart from its exquisite beauty this relatively unexplored beach is renowned for its good food, local markets, and for bull fighting events. In addition, the Church of St John the Baptist is a major tourist attraction located around this beach.

The nearest railway station to this beach is located in Margao at a distance of 39 km. The Margao Railway Station is well connected to major cities and towns in the country via trains such as Rajdhani Express, Trivandrum Rajdhani, SamparkKranthi etc.

If you intend to drive to this beach the ideal starting point would be Margao located at a distance of 6 km. There are three routes available from Margao to Benaulim. They are as follows:
- Via Varca-Margao Road
This route includes Margao-Quepem Road, Gogol Housing Board Road, and finally Benaulim Beach.
- Via Colva Road
This route includes Mulgao, Colva Beach Road, Fatorda, Borda, St Joaquim Road, Gogol Housing Board, and finally Benaulim Beach.
- Via Varca-Margao Road-St Joaquim Road
This route includesVarca-Margao Road, Nehru Nagar, St Joaquim Road, Gogol Housing Road, and finally Benaulim Beach.

The closest airport located to this beach is in Dabolim located at a distance of 23 km. The Dabolim Airport is well connected to major cities in the country.
Climate and the best time to visit Benaulim Beach
“Extremely hot and humid summers” is what this beautiful beach experiences from March to May with an average temperature of about 35 degree Celsius being observed. The rainfall received during the monsoon which begins in June and ends in September is “heavy”. The winters on the other hand which beginS in December and ends in February are “mild” with the temperature ranging from a maximum of 28 degree Celsius and minimum of 21 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to visit this scenic beach is from December to February during the winters.

Since the sea located at this beach is considered to be safe, swimming is a very common activity located at this beach. In addition, during the monsoons the feast of St John the Baptist is celebrated at this church which is quite popular.
