Renowned for an extremely tranquil atmosphere is beach located in the Konkan region called Shriwardhan HariHareshwar Beach. This picturesque beach is situated in a town called Harihareshwar in the Raigad district. Along with its scenic beauty this beach is also ideally suited for sunbathing, walking, and yoga. In addition, there are a number of restaurants that surrounds this beach that provides for typical Konkani and Maharashtrian cuisine i.e. seafood.   1. By train:

The closest railway to this beach is located in Mangaon at a distance of 45 km. The Mangaon Railway Station is well connected to cities such as Mumbai and Pune. Bus and taxi services are available from Mangaon to this beach.

  1. By road:

If you intend to drive to this beach then the ideal starting points would be Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, and Nagpur.

  1. Via Mumbai:

There is one route from Mumbai to this beach, and it is via Mumbai Highway/Mumbai Bangalore Highway/Mumbai-Pune Highway.

      2. Via Navi Mumbai:

There is one route from Mumbai to this beach, and it is via Mumbai Highway/Mumbai Bangalore Highway/Mumbai-Pune Highway.

      3. Via Pune:

There are two routes from Pune to this beach, and they are via TamhiniGhat Road and SH-97 and via Mumbai-Bangalore Highway/Mumbai-Pune Highway/Mumbai Pune Expressway.

      4. Via Nashik:

There are three routes via Nashik, and they are via NH-160, via NH-48, and via NH-848.

      5. Via Nagpur:

There are three routes via Nagpur, and they are via Nagpur-Aurangabad Highway, via Nagpur Aurangabad Highway and NH-53, and via Nagpur Aurangabad Highway and Kahakar-Varkheda Road.

  1. By air:

The nearest airport is located in the suburb called Ville Parle. The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is connected to major cities in the country as well as to international destinations.

Climate and the best time to visit Sriwardhan Harihareshwar

The temperature at this beach during the summer season which begins in March and ends in May ranges from a maximum of 39 degree Celsius and a minimum of 20 degree Celsius. The rainfall received during the monsoon which begins in June and ends in September is heavy. On the other hand the winter season which begins in December and ends in February is extremely pleasant with the temperature ranging from a maximum of 31 degree Celsius to a minimum of 15 degree Celsius. So the ideal time to visit this beach is during the winter season from December to February.

Things/activities to do

There are a couple of things/activities found around this beach worth exploring. They are as follows

  1. Dolphin Sighting Rides:

Dolphin Sighting rides can be arranged for with the help of the local fishermen. These rides are definitely worth experiencing.

      2. Temples:

Located in close proximity to this beach are popular temples such as an ancient Shiv Temple and Kalbhairav Temple.

      3. Caves:

A group of caves called Kuda situated around this beautiful beach is also well worth a visit.

Interesting facts

This beach apart from being “serene and pristine” is also known to provide typical cuisine of Maharashtra. Some popular delicacies found over here include potato bhaji, kadhi, Valachi usal, khamang khadi, puran poli, gul poli, shreekhand etc.
